Agentic Virtual Agent cross-region inference

Genesys Cloud enables cross-region inference for Agentic Virtual Agent to address GPU capacity constraints across AWS regions. Agentic Virtual Agent requires GPU resources to run large language models (LLMs), but not all AWS regions where Genesys Cloud deploys have sufficient GPU capacity. The cross-region referencing capability routes traffic from regions lacking GPU capacity to target regions with available resources, with target regions selected based on capacity constraints and data sovereignty regulations. The documentation provides a comprehensive mapping table of AWS regions and their designated target regions for inference routing, with the first listed target region serving as the default. Mappings that cross data sovereignty borders require per-organization opt-in authorization, which can be obtained by contacting Product Support. This infrastructure design ensures consistent Agentic Virtual Agent functionality across geographically distributed Genesys Cloud deployments while maintaining compliance with regional data residency requirements.
