What time zone should I select for Canadian provinces that adopted permanent Daylight Saving Time on November 1, 2026?
On November 1, 2026, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories will adopt permanent Daylight Saving Time. This change means that the time in these regions will no longer fall back in November.
Genesys Cloud now supports the correct canonical time zone identifiers for most of these regions. Update your Operating Schedule Group and Site configurations as follows:
- British Columbia — select America/Vancouver
- Alberta & Northwest Territories (most areas) — select America/Edmonton
For the following regions, the canonical time zone identifiers are not yet available in Genesys Cloud. Use the interim canonical time zone identifiers listed below until Genesys announces full support:
- Manitoba — use America/Jamaica or America/Panama (both permanently UTC-5, no DST)
- Northwest Territories (Inuvik area specifically) — use America/Regina (permanently UTC-6, no DST)
Genesys is actively working to add America/Winnipeg (Manitoba) and America/Inuvik (Northwest Territories) and will publish an announcement when those identifiers become available.
