Use Genesys Cloud with IGEL OS

Genesys Cloud can be used with IGEL OS endpoints to support secure, flexible contact center deployments. IGEL provides a secure endpoint operating system designed for VDI, DaaS, and browser-based SaaS applications, including contact center platforms like Genesys Cloud. Organizations can use IGEL to enable agents to access Genesys Cloud from managed devices while maintaining centralized control and security.

Overview

When using IGEL OS, agents can access Genesys Cloud through supported environments such as:

  • Local browser sessions on the IGEL endpoint
  • Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions (for example, Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop)

IGEL helps provide a consistent and secure endpoint experience while allowing Genesys Cloud WebRTC functionality to operate on supported devices.

Configuration and setup

Configuration of IGEL environments varies based on:

  • Deployment model (local browser vs VDI)
  • Endpoint hardware and peripherals
  • Organizational security and network requirements

Genesys Cloud does not require any IGEL-specific configuration beyond standard WebRTC and telephony setup.

Note: IGEL environments are managed and configured through IGEL tools and policies. Genesys Cloud customers should work directly with their IGEL representative or partner to:
  • Configure IGEL OS endpoints
  • Validate device compatibility (audio devices, peripherals, browsers)
  • Ensure optimal setup for their specific deployment model
