In a future release, Genesys Cloud will support SIP 603+ responses for outbound calls that carriers block using network-based analytics. When a carrier blocks a call, Genesys Cloud will provide standardized information about the block, including the reason for the block and contact information for the blocking provider. This update aligns with FCC requirements for analytics-based call blocking.
What’s changing
- Genesys Cloud Voice will use SIP 603+ for outbound calls blocked by carrier analytics.
- SIP 603+ responses will include:
- The Network Blocked status.
- An indication that the call was blocked by network-based analytics.
- Contact information for the blocking provider to support caller redress.
- Genesys Cloud will replace the legacy SIP response codes previously used for analytics-based call blocking with the standardized SIP 603+ response.
Why this matters
When a carrier blocks a call based on network analytics, organizations will receive more detailed information about why the call was blocked and which provider performed the block. This information can help administrators investigate call delivery issues, identify incorrectly blocked calls, and contact the appropriate provider to request remediation. The use of SIP 603+ also aligns Genesys Cloud Voice with the FCC’s standardized signaling requirements for analytics-based call blocking.
