In a future release, Genesys Cloud will expand On Demand Log Capture to automatically capture browser network activity alongside the existing console logs. Administrators and support engineers can review network logs separately from console logs, filter network entries, and download the network data as a standard HAR file. This capability reduces the need to manually reproduce issues and collect HAR files with browser developer tools, particularly when troubleshooting intermittent problems.

What’s changing

Genesys Cloud will add the following network log capabilities to On Demand Log Capture:

  • Network log capture – Captures browser network activity during an On Demand Log Capture session and associates the activity with the user and capture timeframe. Network capture uses the same rolling five-minute buffer as On Demand console logs, so the data sent when a user clicks the Send Logs Now button covers the five minutes leading up to that point.
  • Network log download – Allows administrators to download captured network data as a HAR file through the existing log download workflow. Administrators can download all logs, network logs only as a HAR file, or console logs only.
  • Network log details – Captures request and response information, including URLs, methods, available headers, payloads, and status codes.
  • Separate log views – Adds Network, Console, and All tabs to the Log Capture UI so administrators and support engineers can review network and console logs separately or together.
  • Network log filters – Allows administrators and support engineers to filter network logs by information such as status code ranges and success or failure to locate relevant entries more quickly.

This release adds network log capture to On Demand Log Capture only. Scheduled Log Capture is not changed.

Why this matters

Network logs are often needed to investigate UI, authentication, and intermittent issues. Capturing this information directly through On Demand Log Capture eliminates the need for users to manually collect HAR files with browser developer tools and provides support teams with the network information they need through the existing log capture workflow.

Action required

No action is required. When users with the required permission initiate On Demand Log Capture, Genesys Cloud captures the network activity leading up to that point, along with the existing console log information.
