To improve accessibility, Genesys Cloud is updating the RGB color values used for global navigation and presence indicators across the application. The new color values provide greater contrast and clearer visual distinction, making navigation elements and presence statuses easier to identify, particularly for users with visual impairments or color vision deficiencies.

What’s changing

Genesys Cloud will introduce the new color values gradually on a page-by-page basis – following the example of the user menu and the top bar – as updates roll out across the application. The updates are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Users may notice visual changes to navigation elements and presence indicators as individual pages are updated. The changes do not affect the existing meaning or functionality of presence indicators.

Benefits

The updated colors will:

  • Make navigation elements easier to distinguish.
  • Make presence statuses, such as available, busy, and offline, easier to recognize.
  • Improve usability for users with visual impairments or color vision deficiencies.
  • Help reduce visual strain when using Genesys Cloud for extended periods.
  • Provide more consistent, accessible color contrast across the application.

Why this matters

Clear visual distinction helps users quickly recognize navigation elements and understand presence status without unnecessary visual effort. Improving color contrast also makes these parts of the interface more accessible to users with visual impairments or color vision deficiencies.

The changes improve accessibility without changing how users interact with global navigation or how presence statuses work.

Action required

No action is required. The updated colors will appear automatically on individual pages as the changes roll out.
