In a future release, Genesys Cloud will let flow authors create, read, and update conversation attributes directly in Architect without using Data Actions. These native actions will simplify how flow authors work with conversation attributes in supported flows and reduce the effort required to store and reuse custom conversation data.

What’s changing

Flow authors will be able to use native Architect actions to create, get, and update conversation attributes within their flows. These actions will let authors work with conversation attributes directly in Architect instead of building and maintaining Data Actions for the same tasks.

The new actions will support common use cases such as writing values to a conversation attribute record, reading values back into the flow, and updating existing records as the interaction progresses. This will make it easier to capture and reuse data such as booking IDs, claim references, or case priorities during the conversation lifecycle.

Why this matters

This feature gives flow authors and administrators a simpler way to work with conversation attributes directly in Architect. They can capture, read, and update custom conversation data within the flow and reuse that data throughout the conversation lifecycle. This helps teams build flows more efficiently, maintain consistency when working with structured data, and support use cases that rely on conversation-level context. It is especially useful for organizations that want to expand their use of conversation attributes in Architect and for teams that want to streamline how they configure and maintain flows.
