Add a time-off limit

You can add a time-off limit from the time-off limits page where you can set the time-off limits for an entire management unit or for a staffing group.

  1. Click Menu > Workforce Management > Scheduling > Time-Off Limits.
  2. The Time-Off Limits page is displayed. Click Add.
  3. The Create Time-Off Limit dialog box is displayed. In the Apply to field, select whether you want to create a time-off limit for a management unit or a staffing group.
  4. In the Management Unit or Staffing Group list that displays, select the required management unit or staffing group.
  5. In the Time-off limit unit section, select one of the following options:
    1. Limit by staff: Configure the number of staff who can be off during each 15-minute interval throughout the day. This is the default selection. Now, perform the following steps:
      1. Review the interval grid, which displays a Time column containing 15-minute intervals throughout the day.
      2. Enter or update the staff limit for the required intervals.
      3. (Optional) Select multiple intervals and apply the same limit value to update them in bulk.
      4. Click Save.
Note: The Time column and interval-based limit counts are displayed only for time-off limits configured using Limit by staff.
    2. Limit by hours: Configure the maximum number of time-off hours allowed per day. Now, perform the following steps:
      1. Enter the daily time-off limit in hours.
      2. Click Save.
  6. Select the Set fallback start time for full day time off checkbox to specify the default start time that the system can use when it cannot determine the shift start time for a full-day time-off request. This field is displayed only when you set the Time-off limit unit field to Limit by staff. The system uses this time to evaluate the request against the applicable time-off limits for the corresponding portion of the day.
  7. Click Create.
