Why can’t I view the consumer secret in Salesforce when configuring Salesforce data actions integration credential and how do I fix it?
The Genesys Cloud Salesforce Data Action credential requires the Client ID (Consumer Key) and Client Secret (Consumer Secret), which must be obtained from Salesforce. These credentials are generated using Salesforce External Client Apps, which support the Client Credentials Flow for system-to-system authentication. However, in some Salesforce orgs where the required licenses or permissions are not enabled, the consumer secret is not visible. Access to the consumer secret is necessary to configure the integration with Genesys Cloud.
If you encounter this issue, contact Salesforce support and request a tenant license update to enable External Client Apps. After Salesforce updates the license, you can access the consumer secret in Salesforce.
