High-cost premium-rate numbers
To protect customers from unexpected excessive call charges and align with carrier-supported dialing codes, Genesys Cloud Voice will restrict outbound calling to certain high-cost premium-rate numbers and select abbreviated dialing codes.
- Premium rate numbers, including some shared-cost numbers, are used for paid services such as pager services, entertainment content, or subscription-based content service.
- Abbreviated dialing codes are short number sequences (typically 3 – 5 digits) used for value-added services such as subscriptions, voting lines, competitions, directory services, or donations
Note: Toll-free numbers and emergency services will not be affected by this change.
Genesys compiled a list of restricted numbers after performing a comprehensive analysis of call traffic patterns across our carrier network to identify prefixes that could present a risk or are not serviced by our carriers
