In a future release, Genesys Cloud will automatically synchronize manual schedule edits with activity plan occurrences in workforce management. When administrators manually edit, move, split, or delete sessions that were originally scheduled through an activity plan, the related activity plan occurrence updates to reflect those changes.
What this means
Administrators can maintain a consistent view between the schedule editor and activity plan views. Previously, manual schedule changes could create discrepancies between scheduled activities and the corresponding activity plan occurrence, which could lead to confusion and orphaned sessions.
With this update, Genesys Cloud automatically updates activity plan occurrences when administrators make manual schedule changes, including:
- Moving a session to a different time or date
- Editing session length
- Removing all attendees or a subset of attendees
- Splitting sessions into multiple sessions
- Deleting sessions from the schedule
The system also adds validation warnings in activity plan administration views when manual edits cause activity plan constraints or configuration rules to be violated. For example, administrators can see warnings for:
- Missing facilitators
- Sessions below minimum group size
- Sessions scheduled outside occurrence date ranges
- Session lengths that differ from activity plan settings
- Other manually edited session conflicts
What you need to do
No action is required to enable this feature.
After this feature becomes available, activity plan occurrences automatically synchronize with supported manual schedule edits made in the Schedule Editor.
Administrators can review validation warnings in activity plan administration views when manual edits create conflicts or inconsistencies with activity plan configurations.
Why this matters
Administrators often need to make manual schedule changes to accommodate operational needs such as employee absences, schedule adjustments, or session changes. This enhancement helps administrators maintain a single, accurate view of scheduled activities across workforce management tools. Validation warnings also help administrators identify and review manual edits that may affect activity plan constraints or scheduling configurations.
