In a future release, Genesys Cloud will simplify the Permissions view in Roles & Permissions to make it easier for administrators to review, understand, and manage role permissions.
What’s changing
Genesys Cloud will redesign the current permissions layout by simplifying the existing domain:entity:action hierarchy into a flatter and more streamlined view.
Updates include:
- A simplified permissions layout grouped by domain
- Updated Select All and Deselect All controls at the domain level
- Permission counters that show selected and available permissions
- Improved visibility into which permissions are assigned to a role
- Repeated domain headers across pages for easier navigation in large permission sets
The updated design reduces the number of rows displayed in the Permissions view and removes unnecessary complexity introduced by the previous “including any future permissions” behavior.
Why this matters
This update improves usability by making permissions easier to scan and manage. It also helps reduce the risk of over-permissioning or unintentionally granting elevated access by making permission selection more visible and understandable. The simplified layout also aligns with the recent removal of automatic inclusion of future permissions when selecting all permissions.
