Genesys CloudProfile panel improvements for contact actions

In a future release, Genesys Cloud will improve the profile panel experience for agents when contact actions are unavailable or restricted during interactions.

Genesys Cloud will replace the generic “No actions available” message with clearer, scenario-specific guidance. Agents will now see more detailed messaging when:

  • Multiple participants are present in a conversation
  • Required promote, associate, or merge permissions are missing
  • Matching contacts exist but the agent cannot act because of permission limitations

What this means

The profile panel will provide more context about why specific contact actions are unavailable and help agents better understand what actions they can or cannot perform.

Genesys Cloud will also rename the “Create Contact” action to “Save Contact” to better reflect the actual behavior. Identified contacts already exist temporarily in the system, and selecting this action saves the contact as a persistent curated contact.

What you need to do

No action is required to enable this enhancement.

Agents will automatically see the updated messaging and revised action labels in the profile panel after the feature becomes available.

Why this matters

Generic or unclear messaging can make it difficult for agents to understand why contact actions are unavailable and may increase unnecessary troubleshooting or support requests. These improvements provide clearer guidance directly in the profile panel, helping agents better understand permission-related limitations and available next steps during customer interactions.
