In a future release, Genesys Cloud will allow administrators to scope individual role assignments for authorized organizations users and groups to one or more divisions. Currently, roles assigned through authorized organizations can only apply to All Divisions. With this change, administrators can limit each role to the divisions that the authorized user or group needs to access. This provides the same division-based role controls already available for other Genesys Cloud users and groups and helps prevent authorized users from accessing resources outside the divisions required for their work.

What’s changing

Administrators will be able to:

  • View the roles assigned to an authorized organizations user or group and the divisions associated with each role.
  • Assign or modify the divisions associated with each role.
  • Scope different roles for the same user or group to different divisions.
  • Continue to use All Divisions when access does not need to be restricted to specific divisions.

Why this matters

Division-based role assignments give administrators more control over the resources that users and groups from paired organizations can access. Administrators can provide the access needed for a specific role without granting access across all divisions, making authorized organizations access consistent with the division controls available for other Genesys Cloud users and groups.

Action required

Existing authorized organizations role assignments will continue to work. Administrators can review their authorized organizations users and groups after the feature becomes available and scope their role assignments to specific divisions when more restricted access is appropriate.
